Friendship Promenade and the Walrus Monument
The main walking point in Mielno is the Friendship Promenade. It stretches along the coastline, connecting the town center with the neighboring Unieście. It's a perfect place for walks and enjoying sea views. Right at the entrance to the main beach stands the famous Walrus Monument. This figure has become a symbol of Mielno as the capital of winter swimming, attracting thousands of winter bathing enthusiasts from all over the country every year.
Lake Jamno – water sports and boat cruises
Just a few hundred meters south of the sea beach lies Lake Jamno, the ninth largest lake in Poland. It serves as a base for water sports enthusiasts. There are sailing marinas and equipment rental points where you can rent kayaks, pedal boats, and motorboats. A big attraction for families are regular tourist cruises on the passenger boat across the lake, offering a completely different perspective on Mielno.
Bicycle paths and hiking trails
For guests who prefer active outdoor recreation, Mielno offers extensive cycling infrastructure. The town is crossed by, among others, the International Bicycle Route R10 (Baltic Coastal Route), which runs along the Baltic coast. The route is flat, safe, and well-marked, making it ideal for family bike trips towards Chłopy, Sarbinowo, or Łazy.
Fishing harbor in Unieście
Walking east along the promenade or the beach, you will reach the summer district of Mielno – Unieście, where a traditional fishing harbor operates. Here, you can see fishing cutters stationed on the beach up close and watch fishermen at work. Nearby smokehouses and eateries offer a wide range of fresh and smoked fish from daily catches.
