Information:
Hortulus comprises 28 themed gardens created with passion for over 20 years.
Among them we can find:
- those related to specific environments (a forest garden, a rock garden, or a water garden),
- garden layouts aligned with the styles of particular cultures (a Japanese, French or Mediterranean garden)
- the Gardens of the Senses designed to affect visitors with color, sound and aroma.
Among the latter are picturesque gardens of color, light and shade maintained in a variety of color schemes. In the Water Gardens and the Grass Garden, the rustle of plants swaying in the wind and the murmur of water create a relaxing sound background, so different from the everyday bustle of the city. Three herb gardens, a small scented garden and an original English-style rosarium, especially on warm days, intoxicate with a bouquet of scents.
In the Hortulus Thematic Gardens, more than 6,000 species and cultivars of ornamental plants have been gathered across 4 hectares. Due to the mild, maritime climate of the area, many of them are exotic and unique species. The garden landscape is diversified by boulders, ponds and water features, and the whole is completed by carefully integrated picturesque bridges, gazebos, sculptures and other elements of garden architecture.
The gardens are alive all year round. Spring begins with a festival of thousands of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other flowers in every possible color and the most fantastic shapes. Summer greets visitors with the scent of blooming bedding plants and culminates during the flowering of the rose collections. Multicolored, fragrant autumn is the most beautiful, though underrated, season in the gardens, which later in winter become a pantry for birds and other animals.
At the entrance to the gardens there is Caffebar Barwinek. The menu offers hot meals, coffee, ice cream and beverages.
The complex also includes a Garden Centre, where several thousand species and cultivars of ornamental plants from the Hortulus ornamental plant nursery are available for continuous sale. Besides the better-known varieties, the offer also includes rarely seen exotic plants that adapt well to our climate. The “Ogród i Galeria” market offers thousands of original items for interior and garden decoration in all possible styles and colors, products from the Sztuka Polska line, as well as publications from our publishing house.
The gardens can be visited daily, individually or in groups, with or without a guide. Current ticket prices and more information can be found at www.hortulus.com.pl. Due to the terrain configuration, narrow paths, rocks and boulders, it is not possible to move around the gardens with baby strollers or wheelchairs. Dogs are not allowed in the gardens, but they can be left in a designated area.
